Civil Society Leaders Protest Public Order and Security Act

A petition from a range of Zimbabwean civil society groups was recently presented to Zimbabwe's Minister of Justice, Patrick Chinamasa. The petition addresses the repressive Public Order and Security Act, adopted in early 2002, which is routinely used by the government to prevent the holding of meetings, to harass members of the opposition and civil society groups and to stifle open political debate.
