Guatemalan Forensic Anthropologists Face Threats and Intimidation

The Lawyers Committee for Human Rights expresses concern for the safety of the staff of the Forensic Anthropology Foundation of Guatemala (FAFG). Members of the FAFG staff have been subjected to repeated threats and acts of intimidation in recent months and have recently received a written death threat warning them not to carry out their work.

Letter states in part: “The work of the FAFG is crucial to uncovering the truth about human rights violations that occurred during the internal armed conflict. Its work should be supported by your government and its staff members protected from threats and intimidation.”
