John Weis
Deputy Director of Development
Joined the Lawyers Committee in 2001

As the Deputy Director of the Development Department, John Weis oversees the charitable support the Lawyers Committee receives from individuals, law firms, and corporations.

Before joining the Lawyers Committee, John was the Manger of Major Gifts and Planned Giving at WNYC Radio, and before that he worked at the New York Public Library and Gay Men’s Health Crisis. John represents Manhattan’s Westside from 14th to 60th Streets as a member of Community Board 4. In addition, he has served as a member of the New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project’s board of directors for the past four years.

John received his B.S. in Commerce from Rider College (1983).
